Programs for Children and Youth

Begin the School Year with Rally Day

Traditionally, Plymouth kicks off the new school year with a September Rally Day picnic at the beautiful grounds and pool of Carrollton School beside Biscayne Bay.  Participants of all ages wear play clothes to church and bring a picnic lunch (or reserve a box lunch, $8/adults and $4/kids in advance).  The youth groups make sno cones to cool off the crowd while everyone enjoys games, swimming, picnics, music and each other’s company.

Excellent Nursery Care is Available During Services

Plymouth offers excellent care by trained childcare providers for infants through 3 year olds during our worship services:

  • Infants to 2 year olds are cared for in the beautiful nursery located in the Kennedy Building
  • Care for 2 and 3 year olds is provided in Preschool Room 10
Church (Sunday) School

Vacation Bible School

Once a year for one fun week each June, Plymouth’s Sunday School and Preschool buildings become the site of Vacation Bible School, for children ages 3 years through sixth grade, of both members and friends.  Directed by Cindy Smith and the Christian Education and Music staff and taught by volunteers, VBS features unique and creative ways to present Bible lessons and stories in an activity-filled morning.  Sign-up forms are available in the church office in early May.

Acolytes

We strongly encourage all of our Plymouth children, age 7 and older, to participate in the Acolyte program.  As Acolytes, two children light and extinguish the altar candles on Sunday mornings, setting the tone for worship.
