TEACHING MINISTER REV. ABEL COTELO

Abel Cotelo was born and raised in Cuba.  There he learned to combine the mystery of faith and the sharp beauty of poetry.  After graduation from Matanzas’ Liberal Evangelical Seminary, he became a published writer and the not-ordained pastor of a new church in the middle of the country. At the same time, he served as the national president of the Youth Ministry for the Cuban Baptist Churches.

Abel arrived in the United States in 2003 and came to Plymouth drawn by the reputation of our own Bob Burt.

Abel has completed yet another Master in Divinity, this time at the Florida Center for Theological Studies, and was ordained at Plymouth Church in April 2006.  He is now working to earn a Ph.D. in Practical Theology from St. Thomas University.
